Spine Safety & Education
At Everest, we have a goal to provide you, our patient, with an outstanding post-operation experience in your own home. Spine rehabilitation is a mission to ease mobility, improve your quality of life, and to relieve pain and symptoms. The following steps will help outline your road to recovery.
Preparing for surgery
It's important to plan ahead and remove any potential obstacles you may face when you return home. These preparations may include: removing rugs, cords, and clearing pathways through your home, creating an emergency plan with a family member or neighbor, making pre-cooked meals if living alone, and choosing a bed that's near a bathroom.
Your recovery services are 100% covered by Medicare. You will receive personalized attention from our nurses and therapists to help you recover through an individual therapeutic program. Everest therapists will ensure that precautions to protect your spine will be observed continually. Your home health therapy will be specific to your home, such as reaching for cupboards, dressing, and bathing.
Reassuming your life
After your surgery, your physician will recommend an appropriate level of activity for you to do while recovering. Activities that could cause any of the following should be avoided at all costs: High risk of physical injury, high stress, or risk of getting tangled or falling.
